The jobN°002

Bar Rosi is a high-end hospitality venue in Noosa, and its signage was never going to be off-the-shelf. The job covered custom architectural and interior signage — a hand-bent neon piece as the centrepiece, plus interior and menu signage — all designed specifically around the client's brief and the venue's interior design rather than pulled from a catalogue.

On a venue like this, signage has to read as part of the interior architecture, not something added to it afterwards. That meant working closely with the venue through the design — how the neon sits against its wall, how the menu signage relates to the bar and joinery, and how every piece shares the same tone as the fit-out around it. The sign is part of the room.

Custom menu signage followed the same thinking — drawn and made for this venue, in materials and lettering that match the space, rather than a generic board that could belong anywhere. When the signage and the interior are designed together, the whole venue reads as one considered piece.

This kind of project is where the studio is heading — fifty years of sign craft applied to architectural branding and interior signage for high-end venues, working alongside designers and builders from the concept stage.
